Another illuminated “D” initial, this time with a design found on Pinterest. From the Grey-Fitzpayn Book of Hours (14th century). I had a lot of fun painting this one, including the grid. Goat parchment, gold leaf on gesso (medieval recipe), Sennelier extra-fine watercolor.
This original artwork has a new home in Croatia.
Un autre “D” enluminé, trouvé cette fois-ci sur Pinterest. D’après le Livre d’Heures de Grey-Fitpayn (XIVe siècle). Je le suis bien amusée à le peindre, ainsi que la diaprure (le fond quadrillé). Parchemin de chèvre, feuilles d’or sur gesso (recette médiévale), aquarelle extra-fine Sennelier.
