Lady and Falcon / Dame au Faucon

Here is a medieval illumination from Renaud de Bar’s breviary, circa 1302. A simple exercise to paint the draped vestment. I had to invent things a bit, as the original painting is very stylized (just look at the bird!). Watercolor on watercolor paper, golden Coliro watercolor. Available.

Voici une enluminure tirée du Bréviaire de Renaud de Bar (~1302). Un exercice simple pour peindre le drapé du vêtement. J’ai du un peu “inventer”, l’original étant très stylisé (regardez donc l’oiseau!). Aquarelle sur papier aquarelle, aquarelle dorée Coliro. Disponible.
